Florence has wonderful weather and it tends to be quite predictable. If you're planning a trip to Florence, it's help to know the weather and what to pack. These simple tips will help guide you.
Spring
Most people prefer to visit Florence in spring or fall because temperatures remain quite moderate. It never feels too hot or too cold. Florence weather in spring tends to be warm with occasional light rain showers. Pack layers to adjust for slight changes in temperatures. A light sweater and a light jacket should suffice.
Summer
Florence weather in summer can get very hot. If you love heat, you'll be happy visiting Florence in summer. Bring shorts, short-sleeved shirts and a few light layers for wearing indoors. If you plan on visiting churches, you'll need thin pants and a sweater to cover up your arms. Remember to bring sunscreen and stay hydrated. Gelato breaks throughout the day also help to cool down.
Fall
Florence Weather in fall get cooler and it begins to rain again. You'll want a warm sweater, a rain coat, light gloves and an umbrella. Fall tends to be quite damp and you'll want good shoes that keep your feet warm and dry. Many women like to wear fashionable leather boots which are also comfy for walking.
Winter
Florence Weather in winter is cold and damp. Temperatures can get below 32°F and everyone wears warm clothes. You'll want many layers, good gloves, a scarf and a hat. Bring a good wool sweater, warm socks and comfy shoes that will keep your feet dry. Winter is a great time to visit; hotels lower their rates and some of the best Florence attractions are less crowded. If you don't mind cooler temperatures, a trip to Florence in winter is a great idea.
